Unhide

Finding answers through research and patient stories

branding | social media | print design

Challenge

Unhide is a platform that helps patients track their own symptoms in a way that makes the data available to researchers. Mental health symptoms can be a sign of brain inflammation but the link has been hard for researchers to look into due to spotty data. Through the platform, patients feel heard, medical professionals can give a more precise diagnosis and researchers can look into patterns and future solutions. The brand needs to appeal to all these groups while feeling inclusive and approachable.

Solution

Since the platform relies on the collaboration between patients, doctors and researchers, we wanted to create a brand that showed how the end result gives more than the sum of its parts. The logo has the patient represented by the central shape and the overlaps represent the new findings. Since Unhide produce white papers, have a website, social media and digital platform, we made sure all aspects of the brand were modular to fit different formats. The colours, fonts and photography all help create an inviting feeling and a sense of ease.

Process

To make sure we created a brand that would connect, we started by talking to the Unhide founders about their one on one experience with everyone involved. We quickly saw how challenging it can be for patients or family who advocate for their loved one. Because of this, we knew the brand focus had to be on creating an environment that feels assuring, dignifying and knowledgable.
